"A properly functioning democracy depends on an informed electorate."
alternative voting systems
The most important message on this website is this: There are feasible alternative voting methods than just a simple vote. These other voting methods and systems have their own strengths and weaknesses, but like the old Model T to a current-day Tesla, our current voting method of "first past the post" is outdated and inefficient.
Electoral College
It is no secret that the Electoral College can go against the say of the people. Five times through-out our nations history, a candidate has won the electoral vote yet lost the vote of the people (including recently in 2000 and 2016). Winning without the popular vote is an unintuitive concept and seeming against American Democratic values. Why does the Electoral College exist?

House of representatives
The House of Representatives is supposed to represent the interests of the people. However, our system of electing representatives is hardly representative. Though acts of gerrymandering, parties can seize far more power than they represent and even control a majority while in the minority.

Senate
Senators are one of the most powerful people alive. With only 100 total and a national population of about 390 million, each Senator represents around 3.9 million Americans. Or well, on average each Senator represent on average 3.9 million Americans. Really 24 U.S. senators represent 3.9 million or more Americans while the other 76 have the exact same individual power, yet represent anywhere from 3.8 million Americans (Washington) to less than 300,000 Americans (Wyoming).*
